2 I San Manuel Miner www.copperarea.com August 6, 2014 In reference to the July meeting where Councilman Brewer questions the Mayor's behavior, I Mayor Barcelo would like to set the record straight on Councilman Brewer's accusations 1. He questions the Mayor on not being able to question SW Gas rep. while making a presentation. Councilman Brewer insists on interrupting the speaker during the presentation. That is why I brought up to Councilman Brewer allow the speaker to finish then ask questions afterwards. 2. Asking why the police chief stepped down: First of all, personnel matters are not discussed in open meeting as Mr. Brewer does not understand and department heads are appointed every two years in July, which Mr. Brewer San anuel Jg/ner P.O. Mr. Brewer needs to know when to speak during the meetings and when the proper time is that the Council appoints the department heads. Mr. Brewer is the only councilman that complains about council actions and does not help council in any town business that we conduct. He was elected to perform these duties but has failed to do any town business. By his actions in the council he disgraces the office and duties that he was elected to perform. I, Mayor Barcelo, am very tired of babysitting Joe Brewer during all the Council Meetings. But I was appointed to perform the duties of Mayor and will have to continue to babysit because a recall would be too expensive for the Town. /s/Alvaro Barcelo Mammoth Mayor While I/we appreciate the intent of this resident, please know the town has NO desire to put a lien on anyone's property. This project has been ongoing since May 2013 properties cited are ONLY VACANT, with out of town owners. Properties lived in are NOT cited. We do need your help, let us know of a property you would like to see better maintained, only if it is vacant. This is only part of an effort to improve the Quality of Life Project anything citizens can do to make life better is welcome. For example; House numbers are very important for both health and safety our fire and police need to be able to find your home in an emergency! General maintenance is contagious.. If you have ~i neighbor that needs help. Currently our public works will pick up appliances and tires that are on the curb for anyone. The intent is to make "Quality of Life" better in Mammoth, that residents want to keep their property maintained. Also, we are working on supplying information for folks to contact for general cleanup, and removal of older mobile homes. NOTE: any mobile home 1976 and older is no longer legal to live in without major expense. Utilities will NOT be activated without updates...We now have contacts for local people to remove these mobile homes for very reasonable fee.Owner is responsible to do this. The town of Mammoth can only supply information we do not recommend specific people or companies. If you wish to be on this "list" supply town with your contact information, what you do and how much you will charge. Mammoth has a bright future and it is up to us who live here to work towards that goal. Return to the culture that makes Mammoth home for us all.. THANK YOU, /s/Diane Theobald
